Sports Injury and Biomechanics
Recommended for active or athletic patients who have a new or longstanding pain or injury in the foot or lower limb area.
About Assessment
This assessment will involve taking a detailed patient history, physical examination of the affected area and an assessment of related joints and soft tissue structures. This will be followed by gait assessment to establish if your lower limb biomechanics are causing or contributing to your problem.
Once a diagnosis is established an appropriate treatment plan will be discussed. This may include strengthening and stretching exercises, taping, strapping, padding, advice on activity modification, training errors and footwear. The prescription of insoles or foot orthoses may also be recommended. In some circumstances an onward referral for imaging or an alternative discipline may also be necessary.
